Gentle Drawing Class – Details

Who this is for
This class is for adults and teens who want a quiet, gentle place to make art. You don’t need any experience—just a willingness to slow down, breathe, and try.

What we do in class

  • Step-by-step drawing and simple techniques

  • Lots of time to practice without rushing

  • Gentle guidance, questions, and encouragement

  • A calm, unhurried pace so you never feel behind

Format

  • Live, small-group sessions

  • Join online by Zoom and/or in person in the Tulsa/Owasso area

  • No fast, high-pressure projects—just one peaceful step at a time

while keeping the pace relaxed.

  • Unhurried Drawing (4 weeks • 2 hours/wk) Class starts January 10th, 2026, Saturdays from 1-3, online or in our studio. All supplies are provided if you attend classes at the studio.
    Line, shape, proportion, shading, and simple compositions.

  • February -Charcoal to Calm (2-hr workshop)
    Value studies and soft edges for quiet focus.

  • March -Slow Watercolor (4 weeks • 2 hours/wk)
    Washes, layering, mixing, and tranquil florals/landscapes.

  • Private Lessons (60 min)
    Personalized guidance for your goals and schedule.

Professional public and private art teachers with over 40 years of experience in all subjects and mediums.

Certified Oklahoma Teachers, with degrees in Art, Graphic Design, Distant Learning, Instructional Design, Art Therapy, coaching and experience teaching K-12, senior citizens, adults, large and small classes. Professional artist, trained and Jerry Yarnell Certified. Book illustrator, experienced with all mediums, but the mediums of choice are pencil (graphite, colored, conte, soft pastel), charcoal, pen & ink, watercolor and acrylic.
